I'm hoping only a few seconds into browsing my website, or social media, you're able to absorb my love for two things:
darkness + beauty.
I'm forever falling in love with soft glowing skin, enhancing natural features, and throwing in a little something witchy. Today I wanted to showcase some images from a shoot I was lucky enough to be a part of two years ago with some very talented women in Phoenix Arizona.
Kym Ventola and I wanted to create something that spoke to both of our styles and bring it to life in a styled bridal shoot. I remember sitting with her at coffee bouncing ideas and inspirations off of each other and it was too easy. We were high-fiving, laughing, and ready to reach out to the perfect vendors.
Everyone came together on this shoot and gave it everything! Kym coordinated and organized the entire shoot. She booked the vendors, scouted locations, and booked maybe the creepiest place every for us to sleep over night in Flagstaff for the shoot. I'm serious, there were creepy dolls in my room and I had to sleep with the light on.
The first shoot started in the evening as the sun was going down. We gathered to steam the dress, sort the accessories, and I created the first look on Jihan which was a dark hallow eye paired with contoured skin and a nude lip.
After very little sleep and hilarious text messages back and forth about how "dolls are staring at us!" we all woke up at 3am and I started the next look which was a cool toned softly blended eye (haunting was the goal) and a crisp dark burgundy lip. The poisonous apple kinda lip. Surprisingly, none of us were delirious. We were excited and ready to create magic. It was freezing and I have no shame admitting I was wearing two pairs of sweatpants while our poor model rocked it out in bridal undies.
Can we also talk about how incredible this grey dress is? I was pretty adamant about us having grey instead of white or cream. Its the most gorgeous shade and you NEVER see it. Monique from Cleo and Clementine is INSANE. Her talent is unparalleled and if ever, ever, ever, a wedding day comes around for me, I'll hire her in a heartbeat. She made this dress for the shoot and it literally took my breath away. I can't thank her enough for her time and talent on this shoot.
This shoot was picked up by Junebug Weddings and featured in 2014.
Huge thank you to all the incredible people involved in this shoot.
